Many individual dental plans today cover only the basics such as teeth cleanings and some x-rays. However, many people need or want a plan that will also pay for such dental treatment as braces or whitening. For most people, they become their own individual dental plan as it becomes more cost effective to save for an uncovered procedure than to upgrade to a traditional dental plan that offers more coverage.
